Azimut Yachts joins SEA Index®as Corporate Member.

Monaco, September 11, 2023

Azimut Yachts joins Superyacht Eco Association SEA Index as Corporate Member to spearhead greater energy efficiency, targeting consumption for Motor Yachts below 24m.

As a corporate member, Azimut Yachts is joining the SEA Index’s yachting network committed to reducing the environmental footprint of yachts and advancing sustainable practices in yacht design and construction.

Complementing the Superyacht Eco Association’s SEA Index recent Phase III launch, that benchmarks the energy intensity of 25 meters + yachts, this new corporate membership is another encouraging support from the yachting sector and opens the route towards the certification of yachts below 24 meters.

Giovanna Vitelli, Chair of Azimut|Benetti Group, comments:

«We have always valued the Superyacht Eco Association’s commitment and we consider their values to be our own. We share the same mission and we are confident that increasing the consumption target to motor yachts under 24 meters will allow us to engage a wider number of shipowners, resulting in an even greater positive impact».

Superyacht Eco Association SEA Index General Secretary Natalie Quévert comments:

‘We are very pleased to welcome Azimut into the SEA Index family and honoured to see this industry leader recognise the SEA Index’s work, helping us create a bigger impact through this collaboration. We believe that encouraging more yacht builders to focus on energy intensity and creating more transparency for consumers is the first way to greater sustainability in the sector.’
