By joining SEA Index®, Port de Saint-Florent commits to promoting lower-impact yachting through the support and dissemination of the SEA Index® CO₂ benchmarking tool. This partnership helps activate engagement among superyacht stakeholders; owners, captains, managers, and charterers, on the importance of measuring and managing their carbon footprint.
“We are pleased to welcome Port de Saint- Florent to our growing international network of committed ports, marinas and owners of yachts,” said Bernard d’Alessandri, President of the SEA Index® and Secretary General of the Yacht Club de Monaco. “The SEA Index community spans the Mediterranean and extends globally, uniting destinations from Corsica to the Seychelles and beyond in a shared mission: to benchmark, reduce and reward sustainable yachting practices. The Isle of Beauty – Corsica holds a special place in the yachting world, not only for its breathtaking coastal scenery but also for the growing environmental consciousness of its ports and maritime community. This collaboration reflects our shared ambition to create a unified Mediterranean front in the ecological transition of the sector.”
As an Institutional Member, Port de Saint- Florent will display SEA Index® signage onsite and work to promote CO₂ benchmarking among its network. SEA Index® certified yachts will have berth priority for reservations in Port de Saint Florent.
David Donnini, Director of Port St Florent, further comments:
“Today, it is essential to promote technical advances in our field. The SEA Index® paves the way for concrete technological solutions that benefit the environment. Joining this network represents a new step forward for us in affirming our commitment to protecting the environment and transitioning to more sustainable yachting.”
This announcement follows the expanding alignment of global ports with SEA Index®, including Italy (Marina Genova, Cala del Forte) the Seychelles (Port Victoria and Eden Marina), Monaco (Port Hercule, Fontvieille, Yacht Club de Monaco Marina), mainland France (Menton, 8 ports of Nice Metropole, Antibes Port Vauban & Gallice, Golfe Juan Vieux Port, Saint-Tropez), Corsica (Port de Saint Florent, Bonifacio Marina).
Together, these ports form a growing alliance dedicated to promoting sustainability through transparency, collaboration, and shared environmental goals.
