to improve yacht environmental performance

The SEA Index® Methodology

A Scientific Approach to Sustainable Yachting.

Designed for modern yachting, the SEA Index® toolkit recognizes sustainable excellence and delivers actionable insights for hybrid, and next generation fuel‑cell propulsion systems, helping owners lead the shift toward cleaner, future‑ready navigation.

Your rating is calculated relative to emission thresholds;
the more efficient your vessel’s profile, the higher its SEA Index® rate.

The SEA Index® flagship CO₂ certification provides a clear, reliable view of your yacht’s environmental performance using IMO‑aligned EEDI/EEXI principles and benchmarking against a fleet of 800+ yachts. Now enhanced with our new Air Quality Certification developed with AtmoSud, using AIS data from 2,000 yachts over 24 metres, the SEA Index® toolkit assesses both CO₂ output and key pollutants (NOx and PM) for a broader greenhouse gas picture of your vessel’s impact.
