Our network is committed to using corporate and innovative sustainability to reduce the environmental impact of the yachting sector.
We take pride in working with independent third party experts, such as maritime class societies, who provide their impartial knowledge in all our development projects. Our collaborations are constantly evolving to include other key environmental impact indicators (NOx emissions, noise pollution, vibrations and the issue of water scarcity are currently in progress).
From SEA Index founding partners to our valued members and extended support network, we are building a community dedicated to preserving nature’s assets and its fragile equilibrium for future generations to enjoy.
Our professional members encompass individuals from the yachting sector, such as shipyards, naval architects, financiers, insurance brokers, management companies and yachting technical directors, all with a direct connection to superyachts.
Our institutional members consist of port entities, port management authorities or territories that have entered into a partnership with the association. These members help expand the association’s initiatives at both local and international levels, attracting SEA Index yachts to their destinations and promoting the adoption of less impactful practices within port and marina infrastructures.
Friends of SEA Index include yacht owners with a SEA Index CO2 certification of below 3 stars but actively working to improve their rating, and stakeholders not directly involved in the superyacht industry, but whose activities and environmental principles align with the core values of the SEA Index.
The backbone of the SEA Index initiative, private yacht members are yacht owners who have received a certification rating of 3 stars or higher. Please get in touch if you are a yacht owner who would like to learn more about certifying your vessel.
By joining the SEA Index initiative, our network of ports and marinas are helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants at their destination. They inform their own stakeholders on better yachting practices and attract less impactful yachts via the Sea Index initiative.
Discover our partner ports and marinas from across the Mediterranean and beyond.
We are grateful for the continued support of our extended network, through promotion and recognition of our work.
The SEA Index, a non-profit association launched in September 2020 with the support of the Prince Albert II Foundation, was created by the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) to help yacht owners quantify their yacht emissions, identify less polluting yachts and make more informed choices.
While aligned with the YCM’s mission to promote sustainable yachting practices, the SEA Index serves as an independent initiative focused on addressing the environmental challenges within the yachting sector. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing environmental responsibility in yachting.
